Degrees and Pathways to Higher Education
We have hundreds of (further) education pathways available to international students through our partnerships with some of Australia's top universities.
Dual award diploma/degree programs combine TAFE and university study, allowing you to experience the best of both worlds.
As a TAFE Queensland graduate you may also be eligible for a credit transfer which can reduce the time it takes to complete your university degree. Under this arrangement, you can start your studies with TAFE Queensland in a diploma level course and move straight into a second year of a bachelor degree at university.
Another added benefit of studying this way is that you can start working straight away using your diploma skills while you finish off your degree.

Degrees at TAFE Queensland
Some of our higher education TAFE Queensland courses are run in partnership with universities and some are TAFE Queensland qualifications. Beside our 130 year teaching pedigree,world-class facilities and industry-connected teachers, there's a host of reasons for you to complete your higher education qualifications at TAFE Queensland:
- Small classes
Our classes are smaller than university lectures. This gives you the chance to get to know your teachers and the other people in your course. It also means your voice will always be heard, and your questions answered. You'll never just be one of the crowd.
- Individualised learning
Our small class sizes means our teachers are able to focus on your individual learning needs and goals, and tailor their delivery to suit. In our classes it really is all about you.
- Practical training
Our courses focus on developing practical skills, which are underpinned by theory. We make sure that everything you learn is relevant and usable.
- Seamless transition
If you study one of our certificate, diploma and advanced diploma courses, you are often able to articulate directly, with credit, into a relevant and corresponding higher education qualification.
- Recognition of prior learning
Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) is a nationally recognised process that helps you gain credit towards a qualification based on the skills and experience you have picked up from previous learnings, work or industry experience (paid or unpaid),volunteering and partially completed studies. Many of our qualifications have RPL opportunities.
