Course overview

Advance your career in a wide range of fields in engineering with this technical qualification. Develop your skills to become a mechanical engineering technician. According to the Australian Government's Job Outlook service, mechanical engineering draftspersons and technicians are specialised occupations that have high skill levels and earning potential. Employers are looking for qualified candidates who are reliable, work well in a team, and have a strong work ethic.

This course covers a comprehensive theoretical and semi-technical base for working in the mechanical, mechatronic, manufacturing and maintenance fields at a para-professional level. You will advance your skills in mathematics, materials science, quality assurance, engineering drawing and computing, as well as management and maintenance strategies. This course emphasises the transfer of theoretical concepts to practical real world applications to put you in the best position to advance your career.

Successful completion of this course will build your skills to a para-professional level and allow you to seek employment as a mechanical engineering technician. It will also put you on the path to further study.
