With a combined population of 270,000 the East Coast region offers all the facilities of an urban city with a relaxed, laid-back lifestyle and an affordable cost of living. If you love the beach and the great outdoors then the East Coast region is for you.

With lush rainforest hinterland, endless stretches of white sandy beaches, and a climate that’s perfect for year round swimming, it’s easy to see why the region is such a popular place to visit and live.

Things to do:

  • explore the natural beauty of the largest sand island in the world, Fraser Island
  • visit Hervey Bay, one of the best places in the world to see humpback whales

Nationality - Sweden
Study area - Fitness

I've always been interested in fitness training and travelling. I spoke to a former TAFE Queensland student who loved her time here and I thought, "it's the place to be!" The campus is in a really good location. If you have a long break you can go down to the beach and have a surf and a swim. I love the people and the culture here. It's paradise and it feels like home.
